BEAUFORT SCALE OF WIND FORCEThe Beaufort Scale of Wind Force is accepted internationally and is used in communicating weather conditions. It consists of number 0 – 17, each representing a certain strength or velocity of wind at 10m (33ft) above ground or in the open.
Note: Approximate corrections for wind speeds at other heights are: 2m subtract 30 per cent; 3m subtract 20 per cent; 6m subtract 10 per cent; 15m add 10 per cent; 30m add 25 per cent. |
